Sunday morning worship together is our main meeting for the week It’s for all ages and everyone’s welcome. It’s simple without being minimal, it’s sincere without being formal. At the heart of it, it’s an opportunity for us to meet Jesus again and to align our hearts, minds and lives with his kingdom. We receive again his love, we express our love together to God, and we love one another as brothers and sisters.
We are blessed with an excellent children’s ministry – “GO Kids”. The children join with the adults for the first part of our meeting, and then go to their groups according to their age: GO Gaga, GO Fish, GO Getters and GO Figure. Child safety is a very high value not only for us but also for our boss (Matthew 18:1-14) – all our children’s ministry leaders are police-checked and trained in child safety.
What does a typical Sunday meeting look like? Well, some family members arrive early to set everything up, and to pray for our time together. At about 10.30am, the Worship Leader that day calls us together and turns our attention to our great God. We usually sing a couple of worship songs and pray, read a passage from the Bible and take a moment to greet one another. We give an offering (which goes towards the running of our church – we’re entirely self-funded – and other organizations we support), and usually at about this stage the children go to their GO-Kids groups. We hear family news, a quick life-tip from a pastor, and pray for one another and our world. A member of our preaching team opens up for us a passage of Scripture – we normally work our way through a book of the Bible over several months. We then take time for open discussion around “What is God saying to us today? And how do we find ourselves responding?” before we close our meeting with a song and blessing. And then we like to have some relaxed time together around morning tea while the kids go berserk in the sports hall and play area.
Now, it’s not always exactly like that. But we hope you’ll find a welcoming group of loving people who take Jesus seriously, but ourselves not too much. We’d love you to join us.
